Back in 2018, I wrote a post called, “Coming Out of the Magic Closet” about owning my gifts as an intuitive oracle.
Even though I knew some people would think it was woo-woo nonsense, I did it anyway. Because denying who I am and what lights me up wasn't an option.
Now I'm feeling that familiar flutter again. This time about AI.
I'm obsessed. Genuinely, completely, magician-level obsessed. 🤩
I wake up excited. I lose track of time building. I feel ALIVE in this work!
I'm also aware that loving AI is complicated.
There's fear out there. There are real concerns to reckon with, and a lot of it is valid!
Job displacement, for one. I get it! I'm a business coach who's made a living for 13+ years offering emotional and strategic support, and now people can go to AI for that kind of guidance 24/7.
Now, do I believe AI can truly replace the depth of working with an intuitive guide who deeply knows you and isn't going to just tell you what you want to hear? No way. That's unmatched.
But does the average person shopping for support see that distinction clearly? Not always. And that's where the marketplace shift is real.
I firmly and forever believe in the power of doing transformational work with a real human. But the reality that the marketplace has shifted? That's undeniable for many of us service-based business owners.
So here's what I keep coming back to:
AI isn't going away. And me staying small about my excitement, or pretending I'm not impacted, doesn't help anyone.
I'm not a talking head on AI ethics. I'm not here to debate the philosophical or environmental implications, nor defend the industry. That's not my lane.
What I AM here for is this:
Building beautiful, human-centered applications that help visionary leaders scale their wisdom.
Using these tools in ways that feel aligned with my values: supporting real people, creating genuine value, staying connected to the human element that's always been at the heart of my work.
If AI is going to disrupt my industry, I'd rather be someone who helps shape how it happens. Building applications that enhance human connection rather than replace it. That scale expertise without losing soul.
Can I be an intuitive oracle AND a tech geek who builds with AI?
Can I care about the planet AND be excited about what's possible?
Can I acknowledge the complexity AND still choose to build?
Can I feel the disruption in my own business AND get excited about what comes next?
I wholeheartedly believe YES.
Just like in 2018, I'm choosing to show up fully. Complications, concerns, and all.
Because the alternative, hiding what lights me up to avoid judgment, or pretending I'm not affected by the very changes I'm building with, isn't how I want to live.
If you're also navigating this tension (excited but conflicted, curious but concerned, disrupted but adapting), I see you.
It's okay to be all of it at once.
