Women Winning in the Workplace

I had the pleasure of seeing Jennifer Sherman – Senior Director of Applications Strategy at Oracle – speak live at the TEDxFidiWomen, and her talk resonated SO deeply with me.

“Imagine a world in which we evaluate corporations not by the percentage of women in power, but by the percentage of women who are happy.” ~ Jennifer Sherman

I absolutely LOVED the message she delivered, and have found myself constantly bringing it up with the ambitious, entrepreneurial women in my life. Come to think of it, there really isn’t much more that needs to be said, as she delivers it flawlessly and with so much truth and heart.

So, without further ado, please stop everything you’re doing right now, and watch/listen to Jennifer Sherman’s TEDx talk:

that was awesome, thanks so much for sharing that, I’ve just emailed the link to all my female colleagues at the company I consult with. Women in corporations need to watch this.

Willo – SOOOO true. I’m part of the HSHB class and started following your new company (BRILLIANT! BTW) and have already signed up. And I’ve finally written my WHY post that will eventually be the heart of my business which resonates with what Jennifer Sherman is saying. Interestingly, I worked at a company founded by a woman…that eventually was run by men. I think that shift has lost some of the key ingredients to its cultural heritage that made it good in the past and maybe even points to some of its struggles now.

Thanks, Jenn! So key to have that WHY clear, as there’ll be many times you need to remember that why to stay true to your passion. Also goes back to reminding yourself of your own awesomeness. 🙂
